Weight Loss Tips

Dining out is a big part of our culture. So how can you dine out without overeating?

  • If possible, look at the menu on-line before you leave the house and decide what you might like to order
  • Consider ordering 2 appetizers instead of an entrée
  • Ask for any salad dressings or sauces on the side and extra vegetables on your house salad
  • Avoid fried items and heavy sauces
  • Ask for the “to go box” when your server brings the food so that you can put 1/3 or 1/4 away if the portion size is too big
  • Eat with the intention of feeling better when you are done then when you started
  • Don’t arrive at the restaurant starving; have a small snack about 2 hrs. before you think your meal will arrive
  • Create a “speed bump” where you can check in with yourself half way through the meal to see if you are still hungry
